A MEDICAL INSTRUMENT?

The object is about 1 foot (30 cms) long. The tube has space for a number of batteries and has a mechanism at the 'spatula' end presumably for stimulating the spatula in some way.

It looks like the object has a medical purpose, but exactly what?

Your comments:

  • It is indeed an electric bee, I saw it being used in greenhouses with tomatoes or cucumbers in my youth.

  • Somewhere at the back of my memory I am sure I have seen one of these in use. I think it is called an electric bee used for vibrating pollen out of flowers to pollinate other flowers on the same stem.
