GPO BELL SET No 25, 1940's

Bell set for use with Post office Systems or the 200 series telephone that had no bell incorporated.

Your comments:

  • Bell Set 25 was used with candlestick, or pedestal, telephones which were being re-issued in the 1950s because of equipment shortages. If a newer handset telephone replaced the candlestick the induction coil in the Bell Set 25 was shorted out by the installer to convert the 25 into a 26 Bell Set and avoid changing the Bell Set.
