• This model was a much sturdier thing than the later green plastic effort you could test for short circuits dis wires party lines and it was less likely to be damaged when working in the open air up poles or in fields shame they ever changed it.

• the little black object in the case lid was where the ringing handle was stored when not required. I was issued with one of these in the late sixties when I started as a subs app linesman.
