WWII FIELD TELEPHONE SET D MKV
Used during WW2 and based on Colonel Fullers designs for field telephones.
Later to be replaced by many more similar styles up to type 'F' 'S' & 'W'. For a description on the Fullerphone system see item A0070 above. These sets were made by manufacturers officially approved by the General Post Office (GPO), and are not always marked by the maker.
Your comments:
- I have two in used but good condition, My father had them from his service as a radio groundsman in the RAAF stationed in Darwin and then Pierce air base in Western Australia During WW2.
We used them to communicate from dads workshop to the house when I was school age about 35 years ago, they are complete and still work perfectly.

- I have one from Australia dated 1941 in an aluminium case. It is in excellent perhaps unissued condition, with correct strap but was missing the handset that I have since located one. I reproduced the "earth pin" based on a photo of an original one.

- I have a telephone that looks remarkably similar to this one. It is a Canadian issue phone with the date 1940 on it. the serial code is C-3289. All it is missing is the receiver, but the original wires are still in the box.
I hope someone can tell me more about it. I am curious as to it's history.
