WW1 DISC OR OYSTER SHELL GRENADE The German Discus or Oyster Grenade worked by a tube held in by the safety pin, once removed fell out when being thrown like a Discus, once the tube was out it enabled four plungers on springs to become free, these had pins on the end hovering over four detonators, when the unit landed the pins were thrown into the detonator(s) and the device exploded.
