MOTOROLA CAR RADIO CONTROL UNIT, 1960's

Motorola car control unit with push button tuning, looking like an 808T, which replaced the 808 having valves instead of transistors. This set does not have an output stage, and on the back is a five-pin DIN socket for connection to a separate power unit, which could have used valves (missing) making this a Hybrid radio, the unit here has four transistors being OC82D and three AF117's, and has an identical front fascia to the model 818T which has integral power transistors on the rear, and no additional power unit.
The picture shows the unit with the grey hammered case removed.
World Radio Ltd made Motorola and Radiomobile car radios (the two being almost identical) in London N.W.2. under license to Motorola Inc in the U.S.A.
