WAYNE KERR AUTO BALANCE CAPACITANCE BRIDGE TYPE B541, 1960's

Wayne Kerr began as the Wayne Kerr Research Laboratories in London in 1946. The company was started by two engineers who had been working for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). Their first product was an Admittance Bridge used to test broadcasting equipment. The company was named after their favourite actor and actress, Naunton Wayne and Deborah Kerr or Bill Kerr, opinions differ. This unit is used to determine the value of an unknown Capacitance. Made during the 1960's, this instrument is similar in style to the Type B221.

Your comments:

  • The name of the business came from Naunton Wayne and Bill Kerr, not Deborah Kerr.

I worked for WK for over 17 years and heard this from a friend of the founders.
