EVER READY AD35 RADIO BATTERY, 1950's

Battery used in portable Radio's for powering the valve heaters. As long as portable valve receivers were still in use, Purchasing these batteries was possible.

  • These batteries were used for model glow plug engines as well. I still have a Cox Baby Bee 049 engine. It required a special clip for the cylinder head and at the other end of the two connecting wires a Paxolin board. On the board were two metal studs the correct size and distance apart to push into the battery.

  • I used to sell these batteries, our electrical shop was visited by van salesmen from Ever Ready/Exide and Vidor. From memory the AD35 1.5v LT and B126 90v HT (see A0181) were used in The Sky Queen and Sky Princess portable radios.
