Your comments:
- I bought a Forfex hairdryer identical to the one above when I started as an apprentice barber in 1960 aged 15, when I was 18 I opened a shop of my own and remained there until I retired aged 65 10 years ago I used the dryer on a daily basis for 50 years and I still have it, it never let me down once, what a superb piece of equipment.

- Mr. JA Fransen was my Grandfather. My family had one of these heavy dryers and we still used it until about the mid to late 90's!

- These hair dryers were sold in the late 50's and early 60's to professional hairdressing salons and also to "poodle parlours" for dog grooming.
They were sold by John A Fransen in Northwood Hills in Middlesex and I did in fact work there repairing them for nearly a year in the early 1960s

- These are salon hair-dryers. They are from the 50s not the 30s. I have a working one in my hair salon. They were used in barbershops. Especially for blow drying teddy boy haircuts ..
