  • I was employed by Sterdy telephones from 1967-1984 and spent most of my time repairing this type of instrument. We new it as a type W314.This model was phased out around the time I started on Sterdy and was superseded by a slim-line case and was called the V314, many of which are still in use today, so Sterdy was a very apt name.
    Door entry systems were once only ever installed in the most up-market apartments but towards the end of my time on Sterdy,more and more were being installed in social housing, as a means of increasing security.
