  • WE HAD AN ARMY SURPLUS ESTABLISHMENT NEAR TO WERE WE LIVE AND THEY HAD ALL MANNER OF EQUIPMENT DATING BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR.

I CAN REMEMBER GOING AND SEEING IN THE YARD HEAPS OF MORSE KEYS, THESE MORSE TRAINING SETS AND 19 SET VARIOMETERS JUST ROTTING INTO THE GROUND.The place has long gone now.

  • I've got one of these sets.Mine is slightly different and has a compartment under with a slide out patchboard and two morse tappers with leads.I understand this kit is battery op and someone at work told me the 2v LT would draw 0.5A to warm the valves and then the HT would run the valves at about 90V-MAmps. You could probably use small batteries in the compartment under. It was made in 1939-dated by the valves.
